The house of Israel threatened. CHAP. XII. CHAP. XII. General resurrection foretold. AND at that time shatandeth for the children 2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of ever. 4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and CHAP. I. was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever, that it shall be for a time, times, and a half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. 8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord what shall be the end of these things? 9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the the ds are closed up and sealed till the time of end. 10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. 11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. 13 But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days. ¶ HOSEA. I said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God. 11 Then shall the children of Judah and the Israel's idolatrous whoredoms. Israel exhorted to forsake idolatry. The LORD liveth. CHAP. III. The desolation of Israel. THEN said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine. 2 So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for a homer of barley, and a half homer of barley: 3 And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for nie many days; thou shalt not play the harlot and thou shalt not be for another inan: so will I also be for thee. 16 For Israel slideth back as a backsliding heifer: now the LORD will feed them as a lamb in a large place.. 17 Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone. 18 Their drink is sour: they have committed whoredom continually: her rulers with shame do love, Give ye. 19 The wind hath bound her up in her wings, and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices. CHAP. V. Ephraim hath hired lovers. the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit falsehood: and the thief cometh in, and the troop of robbers spoileth without. 2 And they consider not in their hearts, that I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them about; they arc before my face. 10 Yea, though they have hired among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall sor row a little for the burden of the king of princes. 11 Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin. 12 I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing. Destruction threatened on Israel. HOSEA. Their distress and captivity 13 They sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of mine found faulty: he shall break down their altars, offerings, and eat it; but the LORD accepteth he shall spoil their images. them not; now will he remember their iniquity, 3 For now they shall say, We have no king, beand visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt. cause we feared not the LORD; what then 14 For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and should a king do to us? buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof. CHAP. XIII. Ephraim's glory vanisheth, &c. An exhortation to repentance.
