It would afford me sincere happiness to believe, that in offering my little book to the attention of the Public, J. was permitted to be the humble means of communicating even a small part of the interest I have myself felt, while engaged with the study of the Scriptures, in prosecution of my task; and should there, but in one instance, be excited, through the Divine blessing, a thirst after heavenly things,a love for that blessed Word of God which the patriarch esteemed more than his necessary food, I should have still deeper cause for thankfulness to Him who alone can open our eyes to behold the wondrous things out of His law.
