GLORY TO THE LAMB.

1 COME, let us join our cheerful songs
With angels round the throne;

Ten thousand thousand are their tongues,
But all their joys are one.

2" Worthy the Lamb that died," they cry, “To be exalted thus;"

66

Worthy the Lamb," our lips reply,
"For He was slain for us."

3 Jesus is worthy to receive

Honour and power divine;

And blessing, more than we can give,
Be, Lord, for ever Thine.

4 Let all that dwell above the sky,
And air, and earth, and seas,
Conspire to lift Thy glories high,
And speak Thine endless praise.

5 The whole creation join in one,
To bless the sacred name

Of Him that sits upon the throne,
And to adore the Lamb.

THE SONG OF FAITH.

1 GUIDE us, O thou great Jehovah, Pilgrims through this barren land; We are weak, but Thou art mighty, Hold us with Thy powerful hand: Bread of heaven,

Feed us till we want no more.

2 Open Thou the crystal fountain
Whence the healing streams do flow;
Let the fiery cloudy pillar

Lead us all our journey through;
Strong Deliverer,

Be Thou still our strength and shield.

3 When we tread the

verge

of Jordan,

Bid our anxious fears subside:

Through the dark and swelling waters,

Bear us safe to Canaan's side;
Songs of praises
We will ever give to Thee.

PRAYER FOR FAITH.

1 FATHER, whate'er of earthly bliss
Thy sovereign will denies,

Accepted at Thy throne of grace,
Let this petition rise:

D

2 Give me a calm, a thankful heart,
From every murmur free;

The blessings of Thy grace impart,
And make me live to Thee.

3 Let the sweet hope that Thou art mine My life and death attend,

Thy presence through my journey shine,
And crown my journey's end.

THE JUDGMENT DAY.

1 THE Lord will come, the earth shall quake,
The hills their fixed seats forsake;
And, withering from the vault of night,
The stars withdraw their feeble light.

2 The Lord will come, but not the same
As once in lowly form He came ;
A silent lamb, to slaughter led,

The bruised, the suff'ring, and the dead.

3 The Lord will come, a dreadful form,
With wreath of flame, and robe of storm;
On cherub wings, and wings of wind,
Anointed Judge of human kind.

4 Can this be He who wont to stray
A pilgrim on the world's highway,
Oppress'd by power, and mock'd by pride,
The Nazarene, the crucified?

5 Go, sinners, to the rocks complain,
Go seek the mountain's cleft in vain,
But Faith, victorious o'er the tomb,
Shall sing for joy, "The Lord is come!"

THANKSGIVING FOR MERCIES.

1 WHENE'ER I take my walks abroad,
How many poor I see!
What shall I render to my God,
For all His gifts to me?

2 Not more than others I deserve,
Yet God hath given me more;
For I have food, while others starve,
And beg from door to door.

3 While some poor children scarce can tell Where they may lay their head,

I have a home wherein to dwell,

And rest upon my bed.

4 While others early learn to swear,
And curse, and lie, and steal;

Lord, I am taught Thy name to fear,
And do Thy holy will.

5 Are these Thy favours, day by day,
To me above the rest?

Then let me love Thee more than they,
And try to serve Thee best.

PRAISE THE LORD.

1 FROM all that dwell below the skies,
Let the Creator's praise arise;
Let the Redeemer's name be sung
Through every land, by every tongue.
2 Eternal are Thy mercies, Lord,
Eternal truth attends Thy word;

Thy praise shall sound from shore to shore,
Till suns shall rise and set no more.

YOUNG DISCIPLES.

1 LORD, a little band and lowly,
We are come to sing to Thee;
Thou art great, and high, and holy,
Oh! how solemn we should be!

2 Fill our hearts with thoughts of Jesus, And of heaven where He is gone;

And let nothing ever please us
He would grieve to look upon.

3 For we know the Lord of glory
Always sees what children do,
And is writing now the story

Of our thoughts and actions too.

4 Let our sins be all forgiven;

Make us fear whate'er is wrong;
Lead us on our way to heaven,

There to sing a nobler song.
