4 Renew my will from day to day!
Blend it with thine ! and take away
“ Thy will be done!” 5 Though Thou hast call'd me to resign
What most I prized, (it ne'er was mine,)
“ Thy will be done !” 6 Should grief or sickness waste away
My life in premature decay ;
“ Thy will be done ! ” 7 Let but my fainting heart be blest
With thy sweet spirit for its guest ;
“ Thy will be done !" 8 Then when to Heaven's bright realms I soar,
These words, so mix'd with tears before,
“ Thy will be done !"
COME UNTO ME. 1 Just as I am—without one plea
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
O Lamb of God, I come
2 Just as I am-and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark blot,
O Lamb of God, I come! 3 Just as I am—though toss'd about
With many a conflict, many a doubt,
O Lamb of God, I come! 4 Just as I am-poor, wretched, blind;
Sight, riches, healing of the mind,
O Lamb of God, I come! 5 Just as I am—Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve,
O Lamb of God, I come! 6 Just as I am—Thy love unknown
Has broken every barrier down ;
O Lamb of God, I come! 7 Just as I am of that free love,
“The breadth, length, depth, and height” to prove, Here for a season, then above,
O Lamb of God, I come !
ON LEAVING SCHOOL. 1 LORD, dismiss us with thy blessing ;
Fill our hearts with joy and peace ; Let us each, Thy love possessing, Triumph in redeeming grace :
O refresh us, Travelling through this wilderness. 2 Thanks we give, and adoration,
For Thy gospel's joyful sound;
3 So whene'er the signal's given,
Us from earth to call away,
May we ever
1 Dismiss us with Thy blessing, Lord,
Help us to feed upon Thy word;
2 Though we are guilty, Thou art good :
Wash all our works in Jesu's blood : Give ev'ry troubled soul release ; And bid us all depart in peace.
1 For a season call'd to part,
Let us now ourselves commend
Of our ever-present Friend.
2 Jesus, hear our humble prayer:
Tender Shepherd of thy sheep,
All our souls in safety keep.
What we each have now been taught,
Let our memories retain; May we, if we live, be brought
Here to meet in peace again.
4 Then, if Thou instruction bless,
Songs of praises shall be given ;
Here on earth, and when in heaven.
1 Now may He, who from the dead
Brought the Shepherd of the sheep, Jesus Christ, our King and Head,
All our souls in safety keep. 2 May He teach us to fulfil
What is pleasing in His sight,
And preserve us day and night.
