2. How doth that appear?

A. Pfal. cxxxix. 2, 3, 4. Thou knoweft my downfitting, and my up-rifing, thou understandeft my thoughts afar off. Thou compafleft my path, and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my Tongue, but lo, O Lord, thou knoweft it altogether. Heb. iv. 13. Neither is there any creature that is not manifeft in his fight: but all things are naked, and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

2. Can it be proved from Reason?

A. Yes, because he made and preferves all things, Gen. i. 31. And God faw every thing that be bad made, and behold it was very good; and the evening and the morning were the fixth day. Pfal. cxxxix. 15, 16. My fubftance was not bid from thee, when I was made in fecret; and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did fee my fubftance yet being unperfect, and in thy Book all my Members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

What use muft we make of this?

A. To be fincere and pious in all things, 1 Chron. xxviii. 9. And thou, Solomon my Son, know thou the God of thy Father, and ferve him with a perfect heart, and with a willing mind: for the Lord Searcheth all hearts, and underftandeth all the imaginations of the Thoughts: If thou feek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou for fake him, he will caft thee off for ever.

A. Because the word, God, hath respect to all three Perfons.

2. How do you prove there are three Persons, God?

A. Matth. xxviii. 19. Go ye therefore and teach all Nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghoft. 2 Cor. xiii. 14 The grace of the Lord Jefus Chrift, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghoft be with you all. Amen.

A. No, but one, 1 Job v. 7. For there are three that bear record in Heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy beft; and these three are one. Joh. x. 30. I and my Father are one.

A. Because the Holy Ghoft ufeth it, Heb.i. 3. Who being the brightness of his Glory, and the extrefs image of bis Perfon, and upholding all things by the word of bis Power, when he had by himself purged our fins, fat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.

A. He is Chrift's Father, Eph. i. 3. Bleffed be the God and Father of our Lord Fefus Chrift, wha bath bleffed us with all fpiritual bleffings in heavenly places in Chrift: And in him Ours, Joh. xx. 17. Jefus faith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet afcended to my Father: but go to my brethren and fay unto them, I afcend unto my Father and your ther, and to my God and your God.

Almighty,

Why is God faid to be Almighty? A. Because he can do what he will, Pfal. cxv. 3. But our God is in the Heavens, he hath done whatfoever he pleased. Pfal. cxxxv. 6. Whatfee ver the Lord pleafed, that did he in heaven and in earth, in the feas and all deep places. Matth. xix. 26. But Jefus bebeld them, and faid unto them, with men this is impoffible, but with God all things are poffible.

2. How doth God do what he will?

A. Only by willing it should be done, Matth. viii 3 And Fefus put forth bis hand and touched bim, Saying, Iwill, be thou clean; and immediate ly bis leprofie was cleanfed. Mar. vii. 34 35. And looking up to Heaven be fighed, and faith unto him Ephphatha that is, be opened, and ftraitway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loofed, and he spake plain. Gen. i. 3. And God faid, let there be light, and there was light.

2. Can none then refift his Will?

A. No, Rom. ix. 19. Thou wilt say then unto me, why doth be yet find fault? for who bath refifted his will? Tit. i. 2. In hope of eternal life, which God that cannot lie promifed before the World began. Heb. vi. 18. That by two immutable things in which it was impoffible for God to lie, we might have a strong confolation, who have fled for refuge to lay bold upon the hope fet before us.

2 What follows from God's being Almighty?

A. 1. That we should submit to his will, Mar xiv. 36. And be faid, Abba, Father, all things are poffble unto thee, take away this cup from me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what thou wilt.

Q. What is meant by Heaven and Earth? A. The whole World with all things in it, Ats 17. 24. God that made the World, and all things therein, feeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in Temples made with hands.

A. Of nothing, Gen. i. 1. In the beginning God

created the heaven and the earth.

Q. How did he make them?

A. By his word, Gen. i. 3. And God faid, let there be light, and there was light. Heb. xi. 3. Through Faith we understand that the Worlds were framed by the word of God, fo that things which are feen were not made of things which do appear.

Q. How long was he making it?

A. Six Days; that we may better discern his Wisdom and Power it it, Light and Plants were before the Sun.

Q. Why did God make all things?

A. For his own Glory, Prov. xvi. 4. The Lord bath made all things for himself: yea even the wicked for the day of evil. Rom. ix. 20. Nay but, O Man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing fomed fay to him that formed it, why haft thou made me thus ?

A. 1. That God is the Lord of Hofts, Gen. iì. 1. Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the Hoft of them. Acts xvii. 24. God that made the World, and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in Temples made with hands.

2. That we ought to admire and praise him, Pfal. cxlviii. 5. 6. Let them praise the name of the Lord: For he commanded and they were created. Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive Glory and Honour and Power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy Pleasure they are and were created.

3. Obey and ferve him, I Cor. vi. 10. For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. Pfal. xcv. 6. O come, let us worship and bow down : Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

A. Yes, Heb. i. 3. Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his perfon, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by bimfelf purged our Sins, fat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. on high.
