Q. How doth that appear?

A. Psal. cxxxix. 2, 3, 4. Thou knowest ney downfitting, and my up-rising, thou understandejt my thoughts afar off Ibnu compasseft niy path, and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my Tongue, but lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether. Heb. iv. 13. Neither is there any creature that is not manifeft in his fight: but all things are naked, and opened unto the eyes of bim with whom we have to do.

9. Can it be proved from Reason?

A. Yes, because he made and preserves all things, Gen. i. 31. And God saw every thing that be bad made, and behold it was very good; and the evening and the morning were the fixth day. Plal. CXXXIX. 15, 16. My substance was not bid from thee, when I was made in secret ; and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Tbine eyes did see my substance yet being unperfect, and in thy Book all my Members were written, wbich in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

Q. What use must we make of this?

A. To be sincere and pious in all things, I Chron. xxviii. 9. And thou, Solomon my Son, know thou the God of thy Father, and serve bim with a perfe&t beart, and with a willing mind: for the Lord Searcbeth all bearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the Thoughts: If thou seek bim, be will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, be will caft thee off for ever.

Maker of Heaven and Earth.
Q. What is meant by Heaven and Earth? . ,

A. The whole world with all things in it, Aets 17. 24. God that made the World, and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and Earth, dwelleth not in Temples made with hands.

Q. What did he make all things of?

Ã. Of nothing, Ger. i. 1. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Q. How did he make them?

A. By his word, Gen, i. 3. And God said, let there be light, and there was light. Heb. xi. 3. Through Faith we understand that the Worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are Teen were not made of things which do appear.

l. How long was he making it?

A. Six Days; that we may better discern his Wisdom and Power it it, Light and Plants were before the Sun.

Q. Why did God make all things?

A. For his own Glory, Proy. xvi. 4. The Lord hath made all things for himself : yen even the wicked for the day of evil. Rom. ix. 20. Nay but, O Man, who art thou that repliest against God? Mall the thing fomed say to him that formed it, why haft thou made me thus?

A. Yes, Heb. i. 3. Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by bimself purged our Sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. A&s xvii. 28. For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain alle of your own Poets have said, for we are also his Off. Spring. Rom. xi. 36. For of him, and through him, and to him are all things; to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
