every name that is named, not only in this World, but alfo in that which is to come; and hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things, to the Church. Phil. ii. 9. Wherefore God alfo bath highly exalted him, and given him a Name which is above every name.

Q. What doth he there?

A. Make interceffion for us, Rom. viii. 34. Who is he that condemneth, it is Chrift that died, yea rather rifen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who alfo maketh interceffion for us. 1 John ii. 1. My little Children, thefe things write I unto you, that ye fin not, and if any man fin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jefus Christ the righteous. Heb. vii. 25. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, feeing he ever liveth to make interceffion for us. 1 Tim. ii. 5. For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Chrift Jefus. John xiv. 13. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my Name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Q. Why is the Father Almighty here added?

A. To fhew that Chrift can now do what he will for us, Matth. xxviii. 18. And Jefus came, and spake unto them, faying, all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. John x. 29. My Father which gave them me, is greater then all; and none is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. Acts v. 31. Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give Repentance to Ifrael, and forgiveness of Jins.

What follows hence?

A. 1. That we truft on him, Rom. viii. 33, 38, 39. Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect It is God that justifieth. For I am perfwaded

that

that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things prefent, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, fhall be able to feparate us from the love of God, which is in Chrift Jefus our Lord.

2. And Worship him, John v. 22, 23. For the Father judgeth no man; but bath committed all judgment unto the Son; that all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son, bonoureth not the Father which hath fent him. Heb. i. 6. And again, when he bringeth in the firft begotten into the World, he faith, and let all the Angels of God worship

him.

From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

From whence will he come?

A. From Heaven, As iii. 20, 21. And be fball fend Jefus Chrift, which before was preached unto you: Who the heaven must receive, until the time of reftitution of all things, which God bath Spoken by the Mouth of all his holy Prophets fince the World began.

2. How do ye prove that?

A. Acts i. 11. Te men of Galilee, why ftand ye gazing up into heaven, this fame Jefus which is taken up from you into heaven, fhall fo come, in like manner as ye have feen him go into heaven. 9. How will he come?

A. With the Holy Angels attending him? Matth. xxv. 31. When the Son of Man fhall come in his glory with all the holy Angels with him, then fhall be fit upon the Throne of his glory. I Theff. iv. 16. For the Lord himself fhall defcend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Chrift fball rife firft. 2 Theff. i. 7. And to you who are troubled, reft with us, when the Lord Jefus fhall be revealed from heaven, with his mighty Angels. Matth. xxvi. 64. Jefus faith unto him, Thou haft faid: Nevertheless, I fay unto you, hereafter shall ye See the Son of Man fitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of bea

2. What shall they do?

A. Gather his Elect and all Mankind before him, Matth. xxiv. 31. And he shall fend bis Angels with a great found of a Trumpet, and they fhall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of beaven to the other. Matth. xxv. 32. And before bim fhall be gathered all Nations; and he shall feparate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats.

2. What will he then do?

A. Judge all, 2 Cor. v. 10. For we muft. all appear before the Judgment-feat of Chrift; that every one may receive the things done in bis body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Matth. xxv. 34, 41, 46. Then fhall the King fay unto them on his right band, come ye bleffed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundati

on of the World. Then fhall be fay unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye curfed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the Devil and his Angels. And thefe fhall go away into everlasting punifhment: but the righterus into life eternal. Acts x. 42. And be commanded us to preach unto the people, and to teftifie that it is he which was ordained of God to be the fudge of quick and dead.

2. Who are the quick and dead?

A. They who fhall be then alive, and all that were before dead, 1 Theff. iv. 15, 16, 17. For this we fay unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive, and remain unto the coming of the Lord, fhall not prevent them which are afleep. For the Lord himself fall defcend from heaven with a fhout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Chrift shall rife first. Then we which are alive and remain, fhall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air, and fo fhall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Cor. xv. 51. Behold, I fhew you a MyfteStery; we shall not all fleep, but we shall all be changed.

I believe in the Holy Ghost.

2. What do ye mean by the Holy Ghost?

2. Why called a Ghost?

A. That is a Spirit, John iv. 24. God is a Spirit, and they that worship him, must worship him in Spirit

2. Why Holy?

A. Because the Fountain and Author of Holinefs in us, 1 Cor. vi. 11. And fuch were fome you: but ye are washed, but ye are fantified, ye are juftified in the name of the Lord Fefus, and by the Spirit of our God. Tit. iii. 5. Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to Lis mercy be faved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghoft. John iii. 5, 6. Jefus answered, verily, verily, I fay unto thee, except a man be born of water, and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh, is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit, is Spirit.

2. How do ye prove him to be God?

A. Acts v. 3, 4. But Peter faid, Ananias, why bath Satan filled thine heart, to lie to the Holy Ghoft, and to keep back part of the price of the land, whiles it remained, was it not thine own, and after it was fold, was it not in thine own power; why hast thou conceived this thing in thine beart, thou haft not lied unto men but unto God. I Cor. iii. 16. Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. Matth. xii. 31. Wherefore I say unto you, all manner of fin and blafphemy fall be forgiven unto men: but the blafphemy against the Holy Ghaft fall not be forgiven unto men.
