1 Он come! loud anthems let us sing, Loud thanks to our Almighty King; For we our voices high should raise, When our salvation's Rock we praise.

2 Into his presence let us haste,

To thank him for his favors past;
To him address, in joyful songs,
The praise that to his name belongs.

3 Oh let us to his courts repair,
And bow with adoration there;
With joy and fear, devoutly all
Before the Lord, our Maker, fall!

1 How welcome to the soul, when pressed
With six days' noise and care and toil,
Is the returning day of rest,
Which hides us from the world awhile'

2 How happy they whose lot is cast
Where Christ invites the weary yet!
They find their sorrows quickly past.
And all their bardens soon forget.

3 Though pinched with poverty at home
With sharp afflictions daily fed,
It makes amends, if they can come
To God's own house for heavenly bread

4 We thank thee for thy day, O Lord!
And here thy promised presence seek
Open thy hand with blessings stored.
And give us manna for the week.

COME, Sound his praise abroad,

And hymns of glory sing; Jehovah is the sovereign God,

The universal King.

2 He formed the deeps unknown; He gave the seas their bound; The watery worlds are all his own, And all the solid ground.

3 Come, worship at his throne,

Come, bow before the Lord:

We are his work, and not our own; He formed us by his word.

4 To-day attend his voice,

Nor dare provoke his rod; Come like the people of his choice, And own your gracious God.

Enjoyment in Worship. SPIRIT OF THE PSALMS.

1 SWEET is the task, O Lord!

Thy giorious acts to sing,

To praise thy name, and hear thy word. And grateful offerings bring.

2 Sweet, at the dawning hour,

Thy boundless love to tell; And, when the night-wind shuts the flower, Still on the theme to dwell.

3 Sweet, on this day of rest.

To join, in heart and voice,
With those who love and serve thee best.
And in thy name rejoice.

4 To songs of praise and joy
Be every sabbath given,
That such may be our blest employ
Eternally in heaven!

The Sabbath welcomed.

1 WELCOME, sweet day of rest, That saw the Lord arise! Welcome to this reviving breast, And these rejoicing eyes!

2 The King himself comes near,

WATTS.

11.

And feasts his saints to-day;
Here may we sit, and see him here,
And love and praise and pray.
One day amid the place
Where Christ, my Lord, has been,
Is sweeter than ten thousand days
Of pleasurable sin.

4 My willing soul would stay
Ir such a frame as this,
And sit and sing herself away
To everlasting bliss.

Praise.

MONTGOMERY

1 STAND up, and bless the Lord,

Ye people of his choice; Stand up, and bless the Lord your God, With heart and soul and voice.

2 Though high above all praise,
Above all blessing high,

Who would not fear his holy name.
And laud and magnify?

3 Oh for the living flame,

From his own altar brought, To touch our lips, our minds inspire, And raise to heaven our thought! 4 Stand up, and bless the Lord; The Lord your God adore; Stand up, and bless his glorious name, Henceforth, for evermore.

Surrounding the Mercy Seat. J. TAYLOR.

1 FAR from mortal cares retreating,

Sordid hopes and fond desires, Here, our willing footsteps meeting, Every heart to heaven aspires. From the Fount of glory beaming, Light celestial cheers our eyes; Mercy from above proclaiming,

Peace and pardon from the skies.

2 Who may share this great salvation?
Every pure and humble mind;
Every kindred, tongue, and nation,
From the dross of guilt refined:
Blessings all around bestowing,
God withholds his care from none;
Grace and mercy ever flowing

From the fountain of his throne.

3 Every stain of guilt abhorring,

Firm and bold in virtue's cause;
Still thy Providence adoring,

Faithful subjects to thy laws, -
Lord with favor still attend us,

Bless us with thy wondrous love; Thou, our sun and shield, defend us: All our hope is from above.

1 LOVE divine, all love excelling,
Joy of heaven, to earth come down;
Fix in us thy humble dwelling,

All thy faithful mercies crown.
Father! thou art all compassion,--
Pure, unbounded love thou art;
Visit us with thy salvation,
Enter every longing heart.

2 Breathe, oh breathe thy loving Spirit
Into every troubled breast;

Let us all in thee inherit,

Let us find, thy promised rest.
Come, almighty to deliver,
Let us all thy life receive;
Graciously come down, and never,
Never more thy temples leave
