1 THE Lord Jehovah reigns; His throne is built on high; The garments he assumes Are light and majesty: His glorics shine with beams so bright, 2 And can this mighty King My Father and my Friend? I love his name, I love his word: The God that built the skies, And earth and nature made: God is the tower to which I fly; His grace is nigh in every hour 2 No burning heats by day, Thou art my sun, and thou my shade, Join, all my powers, and praise the Lord. 3 Hast thou not given thy word, To save my soul from death? And I can trust my Lord To keep my mortal breath. I'll go and come, nor fear to die, Till from on high thou call me home. LANGE. But in its light my soul can see Some feature of the Deity. 1 UNCHANGEABLE, all-perfect Lord, 2 High is thy power above all height; 3 Thine, Lord, is holiness alone; 4 And to thy love, and ceaseless care, WATTS. 192. Divine Protection. Ps. 121. 2 He lives, the everlasting God, That built the world, that spread the flood; The heavens with all their hosts he made, And the dark regions of the dead. 3 He guides our feet, he guards our way; His morning smiles bless all the day; He spreads the evening veil, and keeps The silent hours while Israel sleeps. |
