2 And prayer is made, and praise is given 2 The works of God, above, below. By all things near and far:

Within us and around, The ocean looketh up to heaven

Are pages in that book, to show And mirrors every star;

How God himself is found.

Trust in God through all Changes.

J. TarLOR. 2 If on the wings of morn we speed 1 FATIIER divine, before thy view

To earth's remotest bound, All worlds, all creatures, lie:

Thy hand will there our footsteps lead, No distance can elude thy search,

Thy love our path surround. No action 'scape thine eye.

3 From morn till noon, till latest eve, 2 From thee our vital breath we drew,

The hand of God we see; Our childhood was thy care,

And all the blessings we receive, And vigorous youth and feeble age

Ceaseless proceed from thee. Thy kind protection share.

4 In all the varying scenes of time, 8 Whate'er we do, where'er we turn,

On thee our hopes depend; Thy ceaseless bounty flows;

Through every age, in every clime, Oppressed with woe, when nature faints,

Our Father and our Friend. Thine arm is our repose. 4 To thee we look, thou Power Supreme; 199. Kindness and Constancy of Providence.

Oh still our wants supply! Safe in thy presence may we live, 1 Tuy kingdom, Lord, for ever stands. Ard in thy favor die.

While earthly thrones decay ;

And time submits to thy commands. 198.

While ages roll away.
God our Friend. THOXXON.
1 JEITOVAIT, God, thy gracious power 2 IIoly and just in all its ways
On every hand we see ;

Is providence divine;
Ob

may the blessings of each hour In all its works, immortal rays
Lead all our thoughts to thee!

Of power and mercy shine.

200. Deliverances achnowledged.

WESLET'S COL 201.

Paternal Providence of God. COLLETT 1 God of my life, whose gracious power 1 THROUGH all the various shifting scena

Through varied deaths my soul bath led, Of life's mistaken ill or good,
Or turned aside the fatal hour,

Thy band, O God! conducts, unseen, Or lifted up my sinking head,

The beautiful vicissitude.

2 Thou givest with paternal care, 2 In all my ways thy hand I own,

Howe'er unjustly we complain, Thy ruling providence I see:

To all their necessary share Assist me still my course to run,

or joy and sorrow,

health and pain. And still direct my paths to thee.

3 All things on earth, and all in heaven, : Whither, ob whither should I fly,

On thine eternal will depend; But to my loving Father's breast,

And all for greater good were given, Secure within thine arms to lie,

Would man pursue the appointed end. And safe beneath thy wings to rest ?

4 Be this my care: to all heside

Indifferent let my wishes de; 4 I have no skill the snare to shun;

Passion be calm, and dumb be pride, But thou, O God! my wisdom art:

And fixed my soul, great God, on thee I ever into ruin run; But thou art greater than my heart.

202.

God the Eternal Dwelling-place. Ps. 80. 5 Foolish and impotent and blind, 1 Thou, Lord, thro' every changing scene

Lead me a way I have not known; Hast to thy saints a refuge been;
Bring me where I my heaven may find, Through every age, eternal God,
The heaven of loving thee alone.

Their pleasing home, their safe abode.
