our prayers and supplications, and send us not empty away.

It hath pleased thee to preserve us once more through the nightseason, and to restore us to the light of another day. O fill our hearts with gratitude, and our mouths with thy praises.

And as this is thy own day, enable us to rejoice in it, and devote it to thy service. May it be indeed a sabbath to us! a day of rest from sin and worldly cares, as well as from worldly employments.

Preserve us from a light and trifling spirit, from sinful and vain discourse, from bodily drowsiness and sluggishness of soul.

Raise our thoughts and affections to things above; and quicken our desires after our heavenly inheritance.

Be graciously present with us, O Lord our God, in public and in private. Let the words of our mouths, and the meditations of our hearts be acceptable in thy sight.

Be pleased, especially, to be with us in thy house of prayer: pour out upon us the spirit of grace and supplication: enable us to worship thee in spirit and in truth, that our service and sacrifice may not be that of fools.

May thy word, whether read or preached, be made profitable to us. Teach us to know the joyful sound, and to rejoice in it. Yea, may our souls be satisfied in thy house, as it were with marrow and fatness, that our mouths may praise thee with joyful lips.

Let thy blessing rest abundantly

this day upon thy ministering servants, and waiting people, everywhere. Prepare their hearts to seek thee, and answer them according to the multitude of thy mercies.

May the word preached here, and elsewhere, be attended with great success may multitudes find it to be the power of God unto salvation.

Pity those, O Lord, who are destitute of the means of grace, and pardon those who have them, but refuse or neglect to attend upon them; may it please thee to send out thy light and truth, and to bring back such wanderers to the fold of God.

Preserve us, of thy goodness, this day, outwardly in our bodies, as well as inwardly in our souls. Bless us as a family. May thy peace be vouchsafed to this house, and thy

fear and love rule and direct all our

hearts.

Remember for good all our dear friends, relations, and neighbours; forgive our enemies, and turn their hearts.

With these our prayers, accept, heavenly Father, the tribute of our thanks for all thy favours to us: great and manifold are they; we cannot number them. Lord, teach us to reflect upon them more and more.

We desire especially to praise thee for the unspeakable gift of thy Son Jesus Christ, and for the rich provision thou hast made for our salvation through Him.

In his name we offer these our prayers and praises: Lord, accept them for his sake, and hear us while we use those words wherein He has

taught us to address thee in behalf of ourselves and others.

done in Give us

this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

THE Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Love of God, and the Fellowship of the Holy Ghost be with us all evermore. Amen.
