Make us especially thankful for the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ, for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory.

Accept our thanks for the mercies of this day, for life and health, for food and raiment, for the use of our reason and bodily limbs, and for every other blessing which thou hast vouchsafed unto us.

O pardon the sins of the day, for in many things we offend against thee. Many are the failings and sins whereof our own consciences accuse us; but how many more are known to thee who searchest the hearts, and triest the reins!

Be pleased, in mercy, to blot out our iniquities as a thick cloud, and as a cloud our sins; let them be no more remembered against us, nor in future

have dominion over us. O cleanse thou us from our secret faults, and keep back thy servants also from presumptuous sins.

Of thy great mercy keep us in safety this night preserve us from the danger and terror of devouring flames: protect us from the sons of violence and plunder. May no wicked spirits prevail to hurt us, nor any mischief come nigh our dwelling. Make our sleep refreshing; and if we rise in safety from our beds, may we praise and serve thee with upright hearts.

Let our prayers come up before thee in behalf of all men. Extend thy compassions far and wide. Spread abroad the blessed Gospel till all the kingdoms of the world become the kingdoms of our Lord and of his Christ.

Enlighten all Christian ministers with true knowledge and understanding of thy word.

Bless thy faithful people with an increase of grace, mercy, and peace. Let our dear friends be remembered of thee for good. Pardon our enemies, and all who speak reproachfully of us; and pardon us whereinsoever we have given them occasion so to do. Let thy blessing be with the sick and afflicted: sanctify their troubles, and in due time remove them.

These, and all other blessings, for them, for us, and all for whom we should pray, we humbly beg in the name and mediation of Jesus Christ our most blessed Lord and Saviour. Our Father, &c.

MORNING PRAYER VI.

ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, who dwellest in the heavens, but beholdest the inhabitants of the earth, cast an eye of pity and kindness upon us thy creatures, now before thy footstool.

Call us not to account for our sins and transgressions: remember not against us our past or present iniquities; but for thy Son Jesus Christ's sake, pardon and heal us.

Hear our prayers in mercy this morning; incline thine ear to our supplications. We look to thee alone for help and comfort: disappoint not our hope, send us not empty away.

Thou knowest, O Lord, our necessities before we ask, and our ignorance in asking: have pity upon us,

and those things which for our unworthiness we dare not, and for our blindness we cannot ask, vouchsafe to give us for the worthiness of thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Blessed be thy name, O Father, that in Him all fulness dwells; fulness of pardon, peace, and holiness. O supply our wants out of that fulness: may we daily receive from Him all needful grace and strength.

Pardon our backwardness to ask for these blessings; our indifference about spiritual things, and too great eagerness after the things of this world.

Truly we may say, Our souls cleave

unto the dust.

ing to thy word.

O quicken us accord

As thou hast raised us this morning from the bed of sleep, quicken us
