And forty days were fulfilled for him (for fo are fulfilled days of thofe which are embalmed) and the Egyptians mourn ed for him three core and ten days.

And when the days of his mourning were paft, Jofeph fpake unto the houfe of Pharaoh, laying, If now I have found grace in your eyes, fpeak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh, faying

My father made me fwear, faying, Lo, I die: in my grave which I have digged for me, in the land of Canaan, there halt thou bury nie. Now therefore let me go ap, I pray thee, and bury my father, and I will come again.

And Pharaoh faid, Go up, and bury thy father, according as he made theefwear. 7 And Jofeph went up to bury his father and with him went up all the fervants of Pharaoh, the elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt,

And all the houfe of Jofeph, and his brethren, and his fathers houfe: onely their little ones, and their fucks, and their herds, they left in land of Gothen. -9 And there went up with him both chariots and horfmen, and it was a very great company.

to And they came to the threshing-floor of Atad, which is beyond Jordan, and there they mourned with a great and very fore Jamentation: and he made a mourning for his father feven days.

And when the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, faw the mourning in the floor of Atad, they faid,This is agricyous mourning to the Egyptians: wherefore the name of it was called Abel-mizraim, which is beyond Jordan.

And his fons did unto him according as he commanded them.

For his fons carried him into the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah which Abraham bought with the field for a poffeffionofa burying-place, of Ephron the Hittite, be fore Mamre,

Good out of evil. 14 And Jofeph returned into Egypt, he and his brethren, and all that went up with him to bury his father, after he had buried his father.

And when Jofephs brethren faw their father was dead, they faid, Jofeph wil peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite as all the evill which we did unto him.

And they fent a meffenger unto Jofeph, faying, Thy father did command before he died, faying,

So fhall ye fay unto Jofeph, Forgive, pray thee now, the trefpafs of thy brethren, and their fin: for they did unto thee evill: And now, we pray thee, forgive the trefpafs of the fervants of the God of thy father: And Jofeph wept when they ipake unto him.

And his brethren alfo went and fell down before his face; and they faid, Behold, we be thy fervants.

And Jofeph faid unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?

But as for you, ye thought evill againft me, but God meant it unto good, to bring to pafs, as it is this day, to fave much people alive.

Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them; and fpake kindly unto them.

And Jofeph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his fathers houfe: and Jofeph lived an hundred and ten years.

And Jofeph taw Ephraims children of the third generation: the children allo of Machir, the fon of Manaffeh, were brought up upon Jofeph knees.

And Jofeph faid unto his brethren,I die: & Ged will furely vifit you, and bring you out of this land, unto the land which he fware to Abraham, to Ifaac,&to Jacob.

And Jofeph took an oath of the children of Ifrael, faying, God will furely vifit you, and ye fhall carry up my bones from hence.

So Jofeph died, being an hundred and ten yearsold: and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt.
