WHen Jethro, the priest of Midian Moles father in law, heard of all that God had done for Mofes, and for Ifrael his people, and that the LORD had brought Ifrael out of Egypt:

14 And when Moles father in law faw all that he did to the people, hefaid. What is this thing y thou doeft to people? Why fitteft thou thy felf alone,& all the people ftand by thee from morning unto even?

15 And Mofes faid unto his father in law Becaufe the people come unto me to enquire of God.

16 When they have a matter, they come unto nie, and judge between one and another, and I do make them know the ftatutes of God and his laws.

17 And Mofes father in law faid unto him. The thing thou doeft is not good.

18 Thou wilt furely wear away, both thousand this people that is with thee: for this thing is too heavy for thee: thou art not able to perform it thy felfalone.

19 Hearken now unto my voyce, I will

give thee counfell, and God fhall be with
