For in that he died, he died unto sin once ; but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Christ is risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of those who slept.

For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto him, who sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb, for ever and ever. Amen.

Proper Psalms.
MORNING PRAYER.

Psalm II.
W HY do the heathen rage? and why do the

nations imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth stand up, and the rulers take counsel together against the Lord, and against his anointed;

“Let us break,” say they, “their bonds asunder, and cast away their cords from us.”

He who dwelleth in heaven shall laugh them to scorn ; the Lord shall have them in derision..

He shall speak unto them in his wrath, and rebuke them in his sore displeasure.

“I myself have set my king upon my holy hill of Sion."

I will declare the decree; the Lord hath said unto me, “Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

“Ask of me, and I will give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the utmost parts of the earth for thy possession.

“Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron, and dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.”

Be wise now therefore, O ye kings; be admonished, ye who are judges of the earth.

Serve the Lord in fear; and rejoice before him with reverence.

Submit to the Son, lest he be angry, and so ye perish from the right way, if his wrath be kindled, yea, but a little. Blessed are all they who put their trust in him.

· BE merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto

D me, for my soul trusteth in thee; and under the shadow of thy wings shall be my refuge, until this calamity be overpast.

I will call unto the most high God, even unto the God who will perform all things for me.

He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him who would swallow me up.

Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, and let thy glory be above all the earth.

My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise.

Awake up, my glory; awake, lute and harp; I myself will awake right early.

I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the people, and I will sing unto thee among the nations.

For the greatness of thy mercy reacheth unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.

Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, and let thy glory be above all the earth.

Now unto the King eternal, etc.
Be honor and glory, etc.

EVENING PRAYER.

Psalm CXIII. PRAISE the Lord, ye servants of his; O praise I the name of the Lord.

Blessed be the name of the Lord, from this time forth forevermore.

Let the Lord's name be praised, from the rising up of the sun unto the going down of the same.

The Lord is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.

Who is like unto the Lord our God, who hath his dwelling so high, and yet humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven and earth?

He taketh up the simple out of the dust, and lifteth the poor out of the mire ;

That he may set him with the princes, even with the princes of his people.

Psalm CXVIII. GIVE thanks unto the Lord, for he is gracious, and his mercy endureth forever.

Let Israel now confess that his mercy endureth forever.

Let the house of Aaron now confess that his mercy endureth forever.

Yea, let those now who fear the Lord confess that his mercy endureth forever.

I called upon the Lord in trouble, and the Lord heard and delivered me.

The Lord is on my side ; I will not fear; what can man do unto me?

It is better to trust in the Lord, than to put confidence in man.

It is better to trust in the Lord, than to put confidence in princes.

The Lord is my strength and my song, and is become my salvation.

The voice of joy and salvation is in the dwellings of the righteous; the right hand of the Lord bringeth mighty things to pass.

The right hand of the Lord is exalted; the right hand of the Lord bringeth mighty things to pass.

I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.

The Lord hath chastened and corrected me; but he hath not given me over unto death.

Open me the gates of holiness, that I may go in by them, and give thanks unto the Lord.

“This is the gate of the Lord, through which the righteous shall enter.”

I will thank thee, for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.

The same stone which the builders refused is become the head-stone in the corner.

This is the Lord's doing; and it is marvellous in our eyes.

This is the day which the Lord hath made ; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Save now, O Lord; O Lord, send us now prosperity.

“Blessed is he who cometh in the name of the Lord; we bless you, ye who are of the house of the Lord.”

Thou art my God, and I will thank thee; thou art my God, and I will praise thee.

O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is gracious, and his mercy endureth forever.

Now unto the King eternal, etc.
Be honor and glory, etc.

FOR WHITSUNDAY.

Anthem.
GIVE thanks unto the Lord, and call upon

his name; tell the people what things he hath done.

O let your songs be of him, and praise him ; and let your talking be of all his wondrous works.

Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face forevermore.

The Lord gave the word, and great was the company of those who published it.
