Whose souls, condemned and dying,
Were precious in his sight. 3 O’er every foe victorious,
He on his throne shall rest,
All-blessing and all blest:
His covenant remove;
That name to us is Love.
Unto us a Son is given.
Power and majesty, and wear,
Names most awful, names most high. 3 Wonderful in counsel He,
Christ, the incarnate Deity;
King of kings, and Prince of peace. 4 Come and worship at his feet;
Yield to him the homage meet;
REJOICE in Jesus' birth,
To us a child is born on earth,
Who made both earth and heaven. 2 He reigns above the sky,
This universe sustains;
The king Messiah reigns. 3 The Mighty God is he,
Author of heavenly bliss; * The Father of Eternity,
The glorious Prince of Peace. 4 His government shall grow,
From strength to strength proceed, His righteousness the Church o’erflow,
And all the earth o'erspread. 156 88 & 7s. CHRIST the Lord, the Lord most glori
Praise our Saviour, hail our God. 2 Praise the Lord, for on us shineth
Christ, the Sun of Righteousness;
Cheers our souls with pardoning grace. 3 Praise the Lord, whose saving splendour
Sbines into the darkest night;
For this never-ceasing light.
Praise him who retrieved our loss;
Hallelujah, God with us.

Let earth receive her King:
And heaven and nature sing. 2 Joy to the earth, the Saviour reigns !
Let men their songs employ; While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and

Far as the curse is found. 4 He rules the world with truth and grace;
And makes the nations prove,
And wonders of his love.

HOLY Son of God most high!
In the chosen people's sight. 2 But, O Saviour! not alone
Thus thy glory was made known,
Stands the witness of thy love. 3 Lord ! it is not ours to gaze
On thy works of ancient days;
WHAT grace, O Lord, and beauty
shone, Around thy steps below; What patient love was seen in all
Thy life and death of woe.
A weight of sorrow hung,
Escaped thy silent tongue.
Thy friends unfaithful prove; Unwearied in forgiveness still,
Thy heart could only love.
Like thee, O Lord, to grieve
The wrongs that we receive.
Which thou on earth hast trod; ;
Thy faithfulness to God:

Midst darkness only light,
And in his will delight.
