FORTH in Thy name, O Lord, I go, The task Thy wisdom hath assigned In all my works Thy presence find, Thee may I set at my right hand, Give me to bear Thy easy yoke, And hasten to Thy glorious day. For Thee delightfully employ Whate'er Thy bounteous grace hath given, And run my course with even joy, And closely walk with Thee to heaven. 150. Amen. L. M. O JESU, Lord of heavenly grace, Thou fountain of eternal light, Come, Holy Sun of heavenly love, And we the Father's help will claim, May He our actions deign to bless, May faith, deep rooted in the soul, O hallowed thus be every day; Amen. O LORD, another day is flown, Are met once more before Thy throne And wilt Thou lend a listening ear To praises low as ours? Thou wilt! for Thou dost love to hear And Jesus, Thou Thy smiles wilt deign, For Thou didst bless the infant train, O let Thy grace perform its part, Thus chastened, cleansed, entirely Thine, A flock by Jesus led, The Sun of holiness shall shine In glory on our head. And Thou wilt turn our wandering feet, And Thou wilt bless our way, Till worlds shall fade, and faith shall greet The dawn of lasting day! Amen. THE day, O Lord, is spent, We have not reached that land, Our sun is sinking now, Praise Christ the only Son, Praise to the Father give, Praise to the Spirit, One alone, In whom alone we live. Amen. As now the sun's declining rays At eventide descend, So life's brief day is sinking down Lord, on the cross Thine arms were stretched To draw Thy people nigh, O grant us then that cross to love, And in those arms to die. All glory to the Father be, All glory, Holy Ghost, to Thee, 154. Amen. 7's. God the Father, be Thou near, God the Saviour, be our Peace, Holy Spirit, deign to come, Holy Trinity be nigh! Mystery of love adored, Help to live and help to die, Lighten all our darkness, Lord. Amen. |
