Ah! who against thy charms is proof!
Ah? who that loves can love enough?

A

Hymn 12. C. M.
LAS! and did my saviour bleed ?

And did my Sovereign die ?
Would he devote that sacred head

For such a worm as I ?
2 Was it for crimes that I have done,
He groan'd

upon

the tree? Amazing pity! grace unknown !

And love beyond degree ! 3 Well might the sun in darkness hide,

And shut his glories in ;
When Christ the mighty Maker died,

For man the creature's sin ?
4 Thus might I hide my blushing face,

While his dear cross appears ;
Dissolve my heart in thankfulness,

And melt mine eyes to tears.
5 But drops of grief can ne'er repay

The debt of love I owe :

6 Wats han hon on gwa gah se ri,

Ji yo ga ro wa nen;
Sa ya ner wagi tenh the on,

Ne wa ge wea na tha.

'Tis all that I can do.

Hymn 13. L. M.
That

my

load of sin were gone! O that I could at last submit, At JESUS' feet to lay it down!

To lay my soul at JESUS' feet! 2 Rest for my soul I long to find:

Saviour of all ! if mine thou art,
Give me thy meek and lowly mind,

And stamp thine image on my heart. 3 Break off the yoke of inbred sin,

And fully set my spirit free ;
I cannot rest till pure within,

Till I am wholly lost in thee.
4 Fain would I learn of thee, my God,

Thy light and easy burden prove,
The cross all stained with hallowed blood

The labour of thy dying love.':
5 I would-but thou must give the power ;

My heart from every stain release ;
Bring near, bring near the joyful hour,

And fill me with thy perfect peace. 6. Come, LORD! the drooping sinner cheer,

Nor let thy chariot-wheels delay :
Appear in my poor heart, appear

My God, my SavIOUR, come away!

way.

His wonders to perform;
He plants his footsteps in the sea,
And rides

upon

the storm. 2 Deep in unfathomable mines Of never

failing skill,
He treasures up his bright designs,

And works his sovereign will. 3 Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;

The clouds ye so much dread Are big with mercy and shall break

In blessings on your head. 4 Judge not the LORD by feeble sense,

But trust him for his grace ;
Behind a frowning Providence

He hides a smiling face.
5 His purposes will ripen fast,

Unfolding every hour :
The bud may have a bitter tastegi

But sweet will be the flower. 6 Blind unbelief is sure to err,

And scan his work in vain :
God is his own interpreter,

And he will make it plain.

O! what an entertaining sight,
