3 To keep your armour bright,

Attend with conftant care;
Still walking in your Captain's sight,

And watching unto pray’r.
Ready for all alarms,

Stedfastly set your face ;
And always exercise your arms,

HYMN CLXXXIII.
Seek ye the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be

added, LUKE xii. 31.
Prace, trộubled foul, thou need’A not fear,
Thy great Provider ftill is near;
Who fed thee last, will feed thee still,

Be calm, and link into his will.
2 The Lord, who built the earth and sky,

In mercy foops to hear thy cry;
His promise all may freely claim,

“ Alk, and receive in Jesu's name.” 3 His stores are open all and free

To such as truly upright be ;
Water and bread he'll give for food,

With all things else which he sees good. 4. Your sacred hairs which are so small,

By God himself are number'd all :
This truth he's publith'd all abroad,
That men may learn to trust the Lord,

5 The ravens daily he doth feed,

And sends them food as they have need,
Altho' they nothing have in store,

Yet as they lack he gives them more. 6 Then do not seek with anxious care,

What ye shall eat, or drink, or wear :
Your heav'nly Father will you feed,

He knows that all these things you need. 7 Without reserve, give Christ your heart ;

Let him his righteousness impart;
Then all things else he'll freely give,

With him you all things shall receive, % Thus shall the roul be truly blest

That seeks in God his only rest;
May I that happy person be,
In time, and in eternity!

SUFFERING.

HY MN CLXXXIV. Come on, my partners in distress, My conorades through the wilderness,

Who fill your bodies feel ; Awhile forget your griefs and fears, And look beyond this vale of tears

To that celestial hill.
2 Beyond the bounds of time and space
Look forward to that heav'nly place,

The faints' secure abode :
On faith's strong eagle-pinions rise,
And force your passage to the skies,

And scale the mount of God.
3 Who suffer with your master here,
We shall before his face appear,

And by his fide fit down :

To patient faith the prize is sure,
And all that to the end endure

The cross, shall wear the crown.
Thrice-blessed bliss, inspiring hope;
It lifts the fainting spirits up;

It brings to life the dead !
Our conflicts here fall soon be pat;
And you and I ascend at laft,

Triumphant with our Head.
s That great mysterious Deity
We soon with open face shall fee ;

The beatific light Shall fill heav'n's founding courts with praise, And wide diffuse the golden blaze

Of everlasting light.
6 The Father fhining on his throne,
The glorious co-eternal Son,

The Spirits one and feven,
Conspire our rapture to complete ;
And lo! we fall before his feet,

And filence heightens heav'n.. 7 In hope of that ecstatic pause, Jesu, we now sustain thy cross,

And at thy footstool fall,
Till thou our hidden life reveal,
Till thou our ravish'd spirits fill,

And God is all in all.

Cast on the fidelity

Of my redeeming Lord,
I fb all his falvation fee,

According to bis word;

Credence to his word I give,

My Saviour in distresses past Will not now his servant leave,

But bring me through at last. 2 Better than my boding fears

To me thou oft haft prov'd ; Oft observ'd my silent tears,

And challeng'd thy belov'd :
Mercy to my rescue few,

And death ungralp'd his fainting prey ;
Pain before thy face withdrew,
And sorrow fled

away,
3 Now as yesterday the same,

In all my troubles nigh,
Jesus, on thy word and name

I stedfastly rely :
Sure as now the grief I feel,

The promis'd joy I soon shall have ;
Sav'd again, to sinners tell

Thy pow'r and will to save, 4 To thy blessed will refign’d,

And stay'd on that alone,
I thy perfe&t strength thall find,

Thy faithful mercies own;
Compass'd round with songs of praise,

My All to my Redeemer give, Spread thy miracles of grace, And for thy glory live.

Father, in thy name I pray

ATHER,

Of thy incarnate love, Humbly ask, that as my day

My suff'ring strength may prove : When my sorrows most increase,

Let thy strongest joys be giv'n; Jesu, come with my distress,

And agony is heav'n.

2 Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,

For good remember me !
Me, whom thou haft caus'd to trust

For more than life on thee :
With me in the fire remain,

Till like burnish'd gold I thine,
Meet through consecrated pain,

To see tay face divine.

HYMN CLXXXVII. Trou Lamb of God, thou Prince of Peace,"

For thee my thirsty soul doth pine ! My longing heart implores thy grace,

O.make me in thy likeneis shine! 2 With fraudless, even, humble mind,

Thy will in all things may I fee ; In love be ev'ry with resign'd,

And hallow'd my whole heart to thee. 3 When pain o'er my weak flesh prevails,

With lamb-like patience arm my breast ;
When grief my wounded sou! affails,

In lowly meekness may I rest.
4 Close by thy side still may I keep,

Howe'er iife's various current flow;
With stedfait eye mark ev'ry step,

And follow thee where'er thou go.
3 Thou, Lord, the dreadful fight hast won ;

Alone thou haft the wine-press trod :

O may I conquer through thy blood! 6 So when on Sion thou shalt stand,
