Yet, 'mid the wild and wintry gale,
When death rides darkly o'er the sea,
And strength and earthly daring fail,
Our prayers, Redeemer! rest on Thee.

Come, Jesus, come! and, as of yore,
The Prophet went to clear the way,
A harbinger Thy feet before,

A dawning to Thy brighter day.

So now may grace, with heavenly shower,
Our stony hearts for truth prepare :
Sow in our souls the seed of power,
Then come and reap Thy harvest there.

Amen.

HAIL to the Lord's Anointed,
Great David's greater Son!
Hail, in the time appointed,
His reign on earth begun!
He comes to break oppression,
To let the captive free;
To take away transgression,
And rule in equity.

He shall come down like showers
Upon the fruitful earth,

And love, joy, hope, like flowers,
Spring in His path to birth;

Before Him on the mountains
Shall Peace, the herald, go;
And Righteousness in fountains
From hill to valley flow.

Kings shall fall down before Him,
And gold and incense bring;
All nations shall adore Him,
His praise all people sing;
For Him shall prayer unceasing
And daily vows ascend;
His kingdom still increasing,
A kingdom without end.

O'er every foe victorious

He on His throne shall rest;
From age to age more glorious,
All-blessing and all-blest:
The tide of time shall never
His covenant remove;
His name shall stand for ever,

That name to us is Love. Amen.

HOSANNA to the Living Lord!
Hosanna to the Incarnate Word!
To Christ, Creator, Saviour, King,
Let Earth, let Heaven, Hosanna sing,
Hosanna in the highest!

O, Saviour, with protecting care, Return to this Thy house of prayer; Assembled in Thy sacred name, Where we Thy parting promise claim. Hosanna in the highest!

But chiefest in our cleansed breast,
Eternal, bid Thy Spirit rest,
And make our secret soul to be
A temple pure and worthy Thee.
Hosanna in the highest!

So in the last and dreadful day,
When earth and heaven shall melt away,
Thy flock redeemed from sinful stain
Shall swell the sound of praise again.
Hosanna in the highest! Amen.

LAMB of God! Thou now art seated
High upon Thy Father's throne;
All Thy gracious work completed,
All Thy mighty vict'ry won:
Every knee in heaven is bending
To the Lamb for sinners slain;
Every voice and harp is swelling
"Worthy is the Lamb to reign."

Lord, in all Thy power and glory,

Still Thy thoughts and eyes are here,

Watching o'er Thy ransomed people,
To Thy gracious heart so dear.
Thou for us art interceding,
Everlasting is Thy love;
And a blessed rest preparing
In our Father's house above.

Lamb of God! Thou soon in glory
Wilt to this sad earth return;
All Thy foes shall quake before Thee,
All that now despise Thee mourn.
Then Thy saints shall rise to meet Thee,
With Thee in Thy kingdom reign ;
Thine the praise, and Thine the glory,
Lamb of God for sinners slain! Amen.

ON Jordan's bank the Baptist's cry
Announces that the Lord is nigh;
Awake and hearken, for He brings
Glad tidings of the King of Kings.

Then cleansed be every breast from sin,
Make straight the way for God within:
Prepare we in our hearts a home
Where such a mighty guest may come.

For Thou art our salvation, Lord,
Our refuge and our great reward;
Without Thy grace we waste away
Like flowers that wither and decay.

To heal the sick, stretch out Thy hand,
And bid the fallen sinner stand;
Shine forth and let Thy light restore
Earth's own true loveliness once more.

All praise, Eternal Son to Thee,
Whose advent doth Thy people free;
Whom with the Father we adore,
And Holy Ghost for evermore.

O COME, O Come, Emmanuel,
And ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here,
Until the Son of God

appear-
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

Amen.

O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free
Thine own from Satan's tyranny;
From depths of hell Thy people save,
And give them victory o'er the grave.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel

Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou day-spring, come and cheer
Our spirits by Thine advent here;
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night,
And death's dark shadows put to flight.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel

Shall come to thee, O Israel.
