2 But in the grace that rescued man, His brightest form of glory shines; Here, on the cross, 'tis fairest drawn,
In precious blood and crimson lines. 3 O the sweet wonders of that cross, Where God the Saviour loved and died; Her noblest life my spirit draws [side. From his dear wounds and bleeding 4 I would for ever speak his name,
In sounds to mortal ears unknown; With angels join to praise the Lamb, And worship at his father's throne. 82 TO'er all the earth, o'er all the sky; H' Almighty reigns, exalted high, Tho' clouds and darkness veil his feet, His dwelling is the mercy-seat. 2 O! ye that love his holy name,
Hate every work of sin and shame; He guards the souls of all his friends, And from the snares of hell defends. 3 Immortal light, and joys unknown, Are for the saints in darkness sown; Those glorious seeds shall spring and rise,
And the bright harvest bless our eyes. 4 Rejoice, ye righteous, and record
The sacred honors of the Lord; None but the soul that feels his grace Can triumph in his holiness.
IET Zion praise the mighty God,
And make his honors known abroad; For sweet the joy our songs to raise, And glorious is the work of praise. 2 Our children live secure and blest; Our shores have peace, our cities rest;| He feeds our sons with finest wheat, And adds his blessings to their meat. 3 The changing seasons he ordains, The early and the latter rains; His flakes of snow like wool he sends, And thus the springing corn defends. 4 He bids the warmer breezes blow, The ice dissolves, the waters flow; But he hath nobler works and ways To call his people to his praise.
5 Through all our land his laws are shown;
His gospel through our borders known; He hath not thus revealed his word To every land-Praise ye the Lord.
IVE thanks to God, he reigns above; T Kind are his tho'ts, his name is love; His mercy ages past have known, And ages long to come shall own. Let the redeemed of the Lord The wonders of his grace record; Israel, the nation whom he chose, And rescued from their mighty foes. 3 He feeds and clothes us all the way, He guides our footsteps lest we stray; He guards us with a powerful hand, And brings us to the heavenly land. O let the saints with joy record The truth and goodness of the Lord! How great his works! how kind his ways!
Let every tongue pronounce his praise.

ETERNAL Spirit, we confess
And sing the wonders of thy grace! [down, Thy power conveys our blessings From God the Father, and the Son. 2 Enlightened by thy heavenly ray, Our shades and darkness turn to day; Thine inward teachings make us know Our danger, and our refuge too.
3 Thy power and glory work within, And break the chains of reigning sin; Do our imperious lusts subdue, And form our wretched hearts anew. The troubled conscience knows thy voice,
Thy cheering words awake our joys; Thy words allay the stormy wind, And calm the surges of the mind.
URE light of light! eternal Day,
Who dost the Father's brightness share, Our chant the midnight silence breaks; Be nigh, and hearken to our prayer. 2 Scatter the darkness of our minds, And turn the hosts of hell to flight; Let not our souls in sloth repose,
And sleeping sink in endless night. 3 Oh! Christ, for thy dear mercy's sake, Spare us who put our trust in thee; Nor let our hymn ascend in vain To thy immortal majesty.
MY spirit looks to God alone;
My rock and refuge is his throne; In all my fears, in all my straits, My soul on his salvation waits.
2 Trust him, ye saints, in all your ways, Pour out your hearts before his face; When helpers fail, and foes invade, God is our all-sufficient aid.
3 Once has his awful voice declared,
13 Now truth and honor shall abound, Religion dwell on earth again, And heavenly influence bless the ground, In our Redeemer's gentle reign. 4 His righteousness is gone before, To give us free access to God; Our wandering feet shall stray no more, But mark his steps, and keep the road.
Once and again my ears have heard, praise of Zion waits for thee,
"All power is his eternal due; He must be feared and trusted too."
4 For sovereign power reigns not alone, Grace is a partner of the throne; Thy grace and justice, mighty Lord, Shall well divide our last reward.
My God, and praise becomes thy house; There shall thy saints thy glory see, And there perform their public vows.
O thou, whose mercy bends the skies, To save when humble sinners pray; All lands to thee shall lift their eyes, And every yielding heart obey.
3 Against my will my sins prevail, But grace shall purge away the stain: The blood of Christ will never fail
To wash my garments white again.
4 Blest is the man whom thou shalt choose,
And give him kind access to thee; Give him a place within thy house,
To taste thy love divinely free.
5 Then shall the flocking nations run To Zion's hill, and own their Lord; The rising and the setting sun
Shall see the Saviour's name adored.
HOW pleasant, and how divinely fair Lord of hosts, thy dwellings are;
With long desire my spirit faints, To meet th' assemblies of thy saints. 2 Blest are the saints who sit on high, Around thy throne above the sky; Thy brightest glories shine above, And all their work is praise and love. 3 Blest are the saints who find a place, Within the temple of thy grace; There they behold thy gentler rays, And seek thy face, and learn thy praise. 4 Blest are the men whose hearts are set To find the way to Zion's gate; [road God is their strength; and through the They lean upon their Helper, God. 5 Cheerful they walk with growing strength,
Till all shall meet in heaven at length. Till all before thy face appear, And join in nobler worship there.
REAT God, whose universal sway,
GThe known, wd unt now worlds obey;
Now give the kingdom to thy Son, Extend his power, exalt his throne. 2 Thy sceptre well becomes his hands, All heaven submits to his commands; His justice shall avenge the poor, And pride and rage prevail no more. 3 As rain on meadows newly mown, So shall he send his influence down; His grace on fainting souls distils, Like heavenly dew on thirsty hills. 4 The heathen lands that lie beneath The shades of overspreading death, Revive at his first dawning light, And deserts blossom at the sight. 5 The saints shall flourish in his days, Drest in the robes of joy and praise; Peace, like a river from his throne, Shall flow to nations yet unknown.
And all the sons of want are blest. Where he displays his healing power, Death and the curse are known no
In him the tribes of Adam boast More blessings than their father lost. Let every creature rise and bring Peculiar honors to our King; Angels descend with songs again, And earth repeat the loud amen.

THE God of my salvation lives,
My nobler life he will sustain; His word immortal vigor gives,
Nor shall my glorious hopes be vain. 2 Thy presence,Lord,can cheer my heart, Though every earthly comfort die;' Thy smile can bid my pains depart,
And raise my sacred pleasures high. 3 O let me hear thy blissful voice,
Inspiring life and joy divine; The barren desert shall rejoice; 'Tis paradise, if thou art mine.
ESUS shall reign where'er the sun Does his successive journeys run; His kingdom stretch from shore to 4 shore, [more.
Till moons shall wax and wane no 2 For him shall endless prayer be made, And endless praises crown his head;
Among the followers of the Lamb.
4 We'll crowd thy gates with thankful 2 While mourning o'er our guilt and
TOW, at the Lamb's high royal feast,
NOW, In robes of saintly white we sing, Through the Red Sea in safety brought By Jesus, our immortal King.
2 O depth of love! for us he drinks The chalice of his agony: For us, a victim on the cross, He meekly lays him down to die. 3 Hail, purest Victim Heaven could find, The powers of hell to overthrow! Who didst the chains of death destroy: Who dost the prize of life bestow. 4 Hail, victor Christ! hail, risen King! To thee alone belongs the crown; Who hast the heavenly gates unbarr'd, 2 And dragg'd the prince of darkness
5 O Jesus! from the death of sin
ISMISS us with thy blessing, Lord; Help us to feed upon thy word; All that has been amiss forgive, And let thy truth within us live.
2 Though we are guilty, thou art good; Wash all our works in Jesus' blood; Give every burdened soul release, And bid us all depart in peace.
Thine image to our heart be borne; CHRIST! with each returning morn And may we ever clearly see Our God and Saviour, Lord, in thee! All hallowed be our walk this day; May meekness form our early ray, And faithful love our noontide light, And hope our sunset, calm and bright.
Keep us, we pray; so shalt thou be 3 May grace each idle thought control,
The everlasting Paschal joy
Of all the souls new born in thee.

COME, Holy Spirit, calm my mind, And fit me to approach my God; Remove each vain, each worldly tho't, And lead me to thy blest abode. 2 Hast thou imparted to my soul A living spark of holy fire? O! kindle now the sacred flame, Make me to burn with pure desire. 3 A brighter faith and hope impart,
And let me now my Saviour see: O! soothe and cheer my burdened heart, And bid my spirit rest in thee. 100
SUN of Righteousness divine, Chase the dark clouds of guilt away, And turn our darkness into day.
And sanctify our wayward soul; May guile depart, and malice cease, And all within be joy and peace. 4 Our daily course, O Jesus, bless; Make plain the way of holiness: From sudden falls our feet defend, And cheer at last our journey's end. 103
THE day of wrath, that dreadful day,
When heaven and earth shall pass away!
What power shall be the sinner's stay? How shall he meet that dreadful day? 2 When, shriveling like a parched scroll, The flaming heavens together roll; When louder yet, and yet more dread, Swells the high trump that wakes the dead.
3 O on that day, that wrathful day, [clay, When man to judgment wakes from Be thou the trembling sinner's stay, Though heaven and earth shall pass
