4 Ho! ye that pant for living streams,
And pine away and die,
In a rich ocean join;
Like floods of milk and wine.
Are everlasting mines;
And boundless as our sins.
Stand open night and day,
Love him, praise him evermore ;
Him in every thing to please.
Our Creator to declare;
God to honour all our days.
Like the Church above employ'd;
Praises to their Heavenly King. 4 Him that sitteth on the throne
Him that died for man t'atone-
They eternally proclaim.
Rivals of the heavenly'choir ;
Let us their enjoyments share. 6 Holy, holy, holy. Lord,
Live by heaven and earth adored !
OF GOD THE REDEEMER.
Doth his own glories shew;
Creating all things new.
And the old Adam dies;
See the new world arise !
To the new heavens I make;
My glories shall partake.
From my old state of sin;
Create new powers within.
And mould my heart afresh ;
And turn the stone to flesh.
From sin, and earth, and hell ;
The Sun of Righteousness.
Source of the light that rules the day;
Reflects thy rays, and speaks thy name,
Which gives the Sun of Righteousness ;
And scatters healing from his wings.
With beams of light, and love divine:
And cheer'd by Him, shall grow and tbrire.
From north to south, from east to west ;
Wide as the circuit of the sun.
When fix'd on high in purer skies,
On all his saints through endless day. 244.
Preserved in Jesus Christ.
Rebelld and lost their God,
Had tainted all our blood,
Of the eternal Son;
He left his Father's throne.
His most diyine array,
Of our inferior clay.
Redeem'd unhappy men ;
5 To thee, O Lord, our flesh and soul
We joyfully resign;
For we are doubly thine.
The business of our days;
Speak thy deserved praise.
Offices of Christ—the WORD.
That ever men or angels bore ;
Or set Immanuel's glory forth.
With his commission in his hands,
To make the great salvation known.
By thee the joyful tidings came,
Of hell subdued, and peace with heaven.
I would be walking near thy side ;
Nor follow the forbidden way.
My wandering soul among his sheep ;
And in his bosom bears the lambs.
Answering his Father's broken laws;
soul at freedom set,
8 Jesus, my great High Priest has died,
I seek no sacrifice beside ;
And now it pleads before the throne.
My Father lays his thunder by!
Shall turn my Father's heart away.
Thy sceptre and thy sword I sing';
Thine is the victory, and I sit
A joyful subject at thy feet.
The captain of salvation leads,
246. The Presence of Christ with his Church ,
Thy Church's living Vine;
Her feeble scions twine.
They flourish and bear fruit ;
And vigour from the root.
Their strength is wholly thine ;
If sever'd from the vine.
Each feels thy purging hand;
Ready for burning stand.
Refreshing dew shall drop;
