'Tis heaven to rest in thine embrace, And no where else but there. 3 Nor earth, nor all the sky, Where all thy pleasures roll; 5 To thee my spirits fly, With infinite desire; WELCOME, sweet day of rest, That saw the Lord arise; 2 The King himself comes near, 3 One day amid the place Where my dear God hath been 4 My willing soul would stay 3 While I concealed my guilt, 4 Let sinners learn to pray, Let saints keep near the throne; Our help in times of deep distress, Is found in God alone. 321 YOUR II. OUR harps, ye trembling saints, 2 Though in a foreign land, 3 His grace will, to the end, Stronger and brighter shine; Nor present things, nor things to come, Shall quench the love divine. 4 When we in darkness walk, Nor feel the heavenly flame; Then is the time to trust our God, And rest upon his name. 5 Soon shall our doubts and fears Subside, at his control: His loving-kindness shall break thro' The midnight of the soul. |
