Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you. Rev. xxi. 4, 5, 6. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away, And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. Psal. xxxvi. 9. For with thee is the fountain of life; and in thy light shall we see light. Rom. ii. 7. To them who by patient continuance in well doing, seek for glory, and honour, and immortality, eternal life. 2 Tim. i. 10. But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Luke iii. 17. Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather the wheat into his garner: but the chuff he will burn with fire unquenchable. 2 Cor. v. 4. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burthened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. Rev. ii. 7. 11. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. He that hath an car, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches: He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. Matt. x. 38. And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to kill both body and soul in hell. Rom. vi. 21. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. (2 Tim. i. 10. See above.) Heb. ii. 14, 15. Forasmuch then as children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also

himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them, who through fear of death, were all their life-time subject to bondage. Rom, v. 12. 20, 21. Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all had sinned. Moreover the law entered that the offence might abound: but where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: that as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life, by Jesus Christ our Lord. James i. 15. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin; and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. 1 Thess. ii. 12. That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory. 1 Cor. xv. 42–44. 49, 50. 53, 54. So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption; it is sown in dishonour, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power: it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. For this corruptible must put on incorruption; and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on im mortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up of victory. 2 Cor. iv. 17. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, work eth for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. Psal. Ixxvi. 24. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Heb. ii. 10. For it be came him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the Captain of their salvation perfect through suffering. 1 Pet. v. 10. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered

awhile, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 2 Pet. i. 3. According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue. Rom. viii. 28-30. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he did also predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the first-born among many brethren. Moreover, whom he did predestinate, them he also called; and whom he called, them he also justified; and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 2 Tim. ii. 10. Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sake, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. Rev. ii. 10. Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer; behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days; be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. James i. 12. Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

SECTION II.

Matt. v, 12. Rejoice and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Luke vi. 35. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind to the unthankful and to the evil. 2 Thess. i. 4-7. So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God, for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure; seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; and to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed

from heaven with his mighty angels. Rom. iv. 3, 4, 5. For what saith the Scriptures? Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward reckoned not of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteCol. ii. 18. Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind. Col. iii. 24. Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. Heb. x. 35. Cast not away therefore your confidence which hath great recompence of reward. Heb. xi. 26. Esteeming the reproach of Christ, greater riches than all the treasures of Egypt; for he had respect unto the recompence of reward. Matt. xvi. 27. For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then shall he reward every man according to his works.

SECTION III.

1 Cor. ii. 9. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. Rom. vi. 17. 21, 22. But God be thanked that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants of God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. Rom. ii. 7. To them who by patient continuance in well doing, seck for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life. Gal. vi. 8. For he that soweth to the flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit, shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Matt. xix. 16, 17. And behold, one

came and said unto him, Good Master, what good things shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God; but, if thou wilt enter into life, keep the Commandments. Rev. xxii. 14. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. Acts xi. 18. When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles, granted repentance unto life. 1 Tim. iv. 8. For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life which now is, and of that which is to come. (James i. 12. See above.) Rev. i. 5, 6, And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first-begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Cor. xv. 28. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him, that did put all things under him, that God may be all in all. 1 John iii. 2. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall know him as he is. Luke xxii. 29, 30. And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Rev. iii. 21. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me on my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. Heb. xii. 22, 23, 24. But ye are come unto Mount Sion, unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and unto an innumerable company of angels, to the ge neral assembly and church of the first-born, which are written in heaven, aud to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh
