are not worthy to ask, but through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ, thy Son, our Lord.
Blessed Lord, who hastcaused all holy scriptures to be written for our learning; grant that we may in such wise hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that, by patience and comfort of thy holy word, we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which thou hast given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ.
O Lord Jesus Christ, who at thy first coming did send thy messenger to prepare thy way before thee; grant that the ministers and stewards of thy mysteries may likewise so prepare and make ready thy way, by turning the hearts of the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, that at thy second coming to judge the world, we may be found an acceptable people in thy sight.
Most gracious God, the giver of all good and perfect gifts, who, of thy wise providence, hast appointed divers orders in thy Church; give thy grace, we beseech thee, to thy servant unto whom the charge of this congregation is committed; and so replenish him with the truth of thy doctrine, and endue him with innocency of life, that he may faithfully serve before thee, to the glory of thy great name, and the benefit of thy holy Church, through Jesus Christ our only Mediator and Re. deemer.
O God, Holy Ghost, sanctifier of the faithful, visit, we pray thee, this congregation with thy love and favor; enlighten our minds more and more with the light of the everlasting gospel; graft in our hearts the love of the truth; increase in us true religion; nourish us with all goodness; and of thy great mercy keep us in the same, O blessed Spirit, whom, with the Father and the Son, together, we worship and glorify as one God, world without end. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, etc.

Almighty God, who hast promised to hear the petitions of those who ask in thy son's name, we beseech thee mercifully to incline thine ears unto us who have this day made our prayers and supplications unto thee; and grant that those things which we have faithfully asked, according to thy will, may be effectually obtained. Grant that the words which we have heard this day with our outward cars, may, through thy grace, be grafted inwardly in our hearts, that they may bring forth in us the fruit of good living, to the praise and glory of thy name, through Jesus Christ.
O Lord, raise up, we pray thee, thy power, and come among
us, and with great might succour us, that, whereas, through our sins and wickedness we are sore let and hindered in running the race that is set before us, thy bountiful grace and mercy may speedily help and deliver us. Almiglity God, we beseech thee to behold this thy family, for which our Lord Jesus was contented to be betrayed and given up into the hands of wicked men. Keep thine household in continual godliness, that, through thy protection, it may be free from all adversities, and devoutly given to serve thee in good works, to the glory of thy name, through Jesus Christ.
O merciful God, who has made all men, and hatest nothing that thou hast made, have mercy upon all Jews, Turks, infidels, and heretics; take from them all ignorance, hardness of heart, and contempt of thy word; and so bring them home, blessed Lord, to thy flock, that they may be saved among the remnant of the true Israelites, and be made onę fold under one shepherd, Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Most merciful Father, we beseech thee to send upon all thy ministers thy heavenly blessing; that they may be clothed with righteousness, and that thy
word spoken by their mouths may have sucht success that it may never be spoken in vain. Especially do thou bless the ministry and service of him who labors for our souls. May the words of his mouth, and the meditations of his heart, be always acceptable in thy siglit. Fill bis memory
with the words of thy law. . Enlighten his mind with the illumination of the Holy Ghost; and may all the wishes and desires of his heart centre in what thou commandest.
