Like that my Jeslis showd;
See hin stretch on yonder cross,

And crush'd beneath our load!
Now discern the wity;

Now his heavenis birth declare;
Faith cries ont, -Tis He,

My God that suffers there!

1st P. M. 6 lines Sith
Iris universal, everlasting love.
TOULD Jesus have the sinner die!

Why hangs he then on yonder tree!
What means that strange expiring cry!
(Sinners, he prays for you and me;)
Forgive them, Father, o forgive!
They know not that by me they live.
2 Jesus, descended from above,
Our loss of Eden to retrieve,
Great God of universul love,

If all the world through thee may live,
In ng a quick'ning spirit be,
And witness thou bist died for me.
3 Thou loving, all-atoning Lamb,

Thee, by thy painful agony,
Tby blondy sweat, thy grief and shame,

Thy cross and passion on the tree,
Thy precious death and life-I pray,
Take all, take all my sing away.
40 let thy love my heart constrain,

Thy love, for every sinner free,
That every fallen son of man

May tuste the grace that found out me;
That all mankind with me may prove
Thy sov'reign, everlasting love.

Sounds aloud from Calvary; feel it rends the rocks asunder, Shakes the earth, and veils the sky;

It is finish'd Hear the dying Saviour cry. 2 It is finish'd! O what pleasure

Do these precious words afford ! Heavenly blessings, without measure, Fluw to us from Christ the Lord :

It is finish'd : Saints, the dying words record. 3 Tune your harps anew, ye seraphs;

Join to sing the pleasing theme; All on earth, and all in heaven, Join to praise Immanuel's name;

It is finish'd :Glory to the bleeding Lamb. 143

L. M. His dying cry. yris finish'd ! so the Saviour said, "Tis

And meekly bow'd his dying head :
'Tis tinish'd! yes, the race is run;
The battle fought; the vict'ry won.
? 'Tis finish'd! let the joyful sound
Be heard the spacious earth around:
"I'is finish'd ! let the echo fly
Through heaven and hell, through earth and sky.

L. M.

2. 'Tis finish'd! all the debt is paid;

Justice divine is satisfied ;
The grand and fiill atonement made;

Christ for a guilty world hath diod.
& The veil is rent; in him alone

The living way to beaven is seen;
The middle wall is broken down,

And all mankind may enter in.
4 The types and figures are fulfill'd;

Exacted is the legal pain;
The precious promises are sealid;

The spotless Lamb of God is slain.
6 Denth, hell, and sin are now subdued;

All grace is now to sinners given;
And, lo! I plend the stoning blood,

And in thy right I claim my heaven.

L. M.
Glorying only in the cross,
THEN I survey the wondrous cross
My richest gain I count but loss,

And pour contempt on all my pride.
2 Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,

Sare in the death of Christ, my God
All the vain things that charm me most,

I sacrifice them to his blood.
3 See, from his bend, his hands, his feet,

Sorrow and love flow mingled down:
Did e'er such love and corrow meet,

Or thorns compose so rich a crown!
4 Were the whole realm of nature mine,

That were e present far too small;
Love so amazing, so divine,

Demands my soul, my life, my all.
