Victorious from the tomb He hath His people freed. Thy praise we sing, the Church's Head, O Thou, who livest, and wast dead.
All hail! triumphant Lord,
Who hast our ransom paid; Wide be Thy name adored, On Thee our help is laid; To Thee all power in earth and heaven, The keys of death and hell, are given.
Jesu, to us impart
Thy Resurrection power,
To God the risen Son,
Father and Spirit blest, Eternal Three in One, All worship be addressed; Join all on earth, rejoice and sing, AH glory give to God our King. Amen.
'Tis the day of Resurrection—
From death to life eternal,
Our hearts be pure from evil,
Now let the heavens be joyful!
Let earth her song begin!
Let the round world keep triumph,
And all that is therein;
Invisible and visible
Their notes let all things blend,
For Christ the Lord is risen,
Our joy that hath no end! Amen.
At the Lamb's high feast we sing
With sincerity and love
Mighty Victim from the sky,
Easter triumph, Easter joy,
98. 8, 8, 8.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
The powers of death have done their worst,
On that third morn He rose again
He closed the yawning gates of hell;
Lord, by the stripes which wounded Thee,
99. 8-7, 8-7, 7-7.
Hakk, ten thousand harps and voices
Jesus reigns, and heav'n rejoices:
Lo! He sits on yonder throne;
Jesus rules the world alone.
Well may angels bright and glorious
While on earth, He prov'd victorious,
Well may angels sing of Him,
Heav'n supplies no richer theme.
Come, ye saints, unite your praises
Soon we hope our Lord will raise us
Meet it is that we should sing
Praise eternal to our King.
King of glory, reign for ever,
Thine an everlasting crown: Nothing from Thy love shall sever
Those whom Thou hast made Thine own; Happy objects of Thy grace, Destined to behold Thy face. Amen.
Jesus lives! no longer now
Can thy terrors, Death, appal us;
Jesus lives! by this we know
Jesus lives! henceforth is death
This shall calm our trembling breath,
Jesus lives! for us He died:
