John i. 6. There was a Man fent from God, whofe Name was John.

7. The fame came for a Witness, to bear witness of the LIGHT, that all Men through him might BE

LIEVE.

8. He was not that LIGHT, but was fent to bear witnefs of that LIGHT.

9. That was the true LIGHT, which lighteth every Man that cometh into the World.

Chap. iii. 19. And this is the Condemnation, that LIGHT is come into the World, and Men loved DarkNESS rather than Light, because

their DEEDS were EVIL.

20. For every one that doth EVIL, hateth the LIGHT, neither cometh to the LIGHT, left his Deeds (hould be reproved.

unto him, and befought him to touch him.

23. And he took the BLIND Man by the Hand, and led him out of the Town; and when he had fpit on his Eyes, and put his Hands upon him, he afked him if he faw ought. 24. And he looked up, and said, I fee Men as Trees, walking.

25. After that, he put his Hands again upon his Eyes, and made him look up: and he was RESTORED, and saw every Man CLEARLY.

26. And he fent him away to his Houfe, faying, Neither go into the Town, nor tell it to any in the Town.

One

One born blind is healed.

John AND as Jefus paffed by, he faw a Man which

ix. 1.

was BLIND from his Birth.

2. And his Difciples asked him, faying, Mafter, who did fin, this Man, or his Parents, that he was born Blind? 3. Jefus anfwered, Neither hath this Man finned, nor his Parents: but that the WORKS of GOD fhould be made MANIFEST in him.

4. I must work the WORKS of him that fent me, while it is Day: the Night cometh, when no Man can work. 5. As long as I am in the World, I am the LIGHT of the World.

6. When he had thus fpoken, he fpat on the Ground, and made Clay of the Spittle, and he anointed the Eyes of the blind Man with the Clay,

7. And faid unto him, Go wafh in the Pool of Siloam (which is by Interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came feeing.

8. The Neighbours therefore, and they which before had feen him, that he was blind, faid, Is not this he that fat and begged?

9. Some faid, This is he: others faid, He is like him: but he faid, I am he.

10. Therefore faid they unto him, How were thine Eyes opened?

11. He anfwered and faid, A Man that is called Jesus, made Clay, and anointed mine Eyes, and faid unto me, Go unto the Pool of Siloam, and wash: And I went and wafhed, and I received SIGHT.

12. Then faid they unto him, Where is he? He faid, I know not.

13. They brought to the Pharifees him that afore time was blind.

14. And it was the Sabbath Day when Jefus made the Clay, and opened his Eyes.

15. Then again the Pharifees also asked him how he had received his Sight. He faid unto them, He put Clay upon mine Eyes, and I washed, and do fee.

16. Therefore faid fome of the Pharifees, This Man is not of God, because he keepeth not the Sabbath Day. Others faid, How can a Man that is a Sinner do fuch Mi

racles? And there was a Divifion among them.

17. They fay unto the blind Man again, What fayft thou of him, that he hath opened thine Eyes? He said, He is a PROPHET.

18. But the Fers did not believe concerning him, that he had been Blind, and received his Sight, until they calJed the Parents of him that had received his Sight.

19. And they afked them, faying, Is this your Son, who ye fay was born Blind? how then doth he now fee?

20. His Parents answered them, and said, We know that this is our Son, and that he was born Blind:

21. But by what Means he now feeth, we know not; or who hath opened his Eyes, we know not: He is of Age, afk him, he shall speak for himself.

22. Thefe Words fpake his Parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any Man did confefs that he was Chrift, he fhould be put out of the Synagogue.

23. Therefore faid his Parents, He is of Age, afk him. 24. Then again called they the Man that was Blind, and faid unto him, Give God the Praife: we know that this Man is a Sinner.

25. He answered and faid, Whether he be a Sinner, or no, I know not: one thing I know, that whereas I was BLIND, now I SEE.

26. Then faid they to him again, What did he to thee? How opened he thine Eyes?

27. He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? Will ye alfo be his Difciples?

28. Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his Difciple, but we are Mofes Difciples.

29. We know that God SPAKE unto Mofes : as for this Fellow, we know not from whence he is.

30. The Man answered and said unto them, Why, herein is a marvellous Thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath OPENED mine EYES.

31. Now we know that God heareth not Sinners: but if any Man be a WORSHIPPER of God, and DOTH his Will, him he HEARETH.

32. Since the World began was it not heard, that any Man opened the EYES of one that was BORN BLIND. 33. If this Man were not of God, he could do NOTHING.

34. They

34. They answered and faid unto him, Thou waft altogether born in Sins, and doft thou teach us? And they caft him out.

35. Jefus heard that they had caft him out: and when he had found him, he said unto him, Doft thou BELIEVE on the Son of God?

36. He anfwered and faid, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?

37. And Jefus faid unto him, Thou haft both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.

38. And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped

him.

39. And Jefus faid, For JUDGMENT I am come into this World: that they which SEE NOT, might SEE; and that they which SEE, might be made BLIND.

40. And fome of the Pharifees which were with him heard these Words, and faid unto him, Are we blind also ? 41. Fefus faid unto them, If ye were BLIND, ye fhould have no Sin: but now ye fay, We SEE; therefore your SIN remaineth.
