Regardless of the pains I feel;
Close by the gates of death and bell,
I urge my way to heaven.

4 Still will I strive, and labour still,
With humble zeal to do thy will
And trust in thy defence;
My soul into thy hands I give,
And if he can obtain thy leave,
Let Satan pluck me thence.

Hymn 203. L. M.

Pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified. 2 Thess. iii. 1.

THEN from the dust of death I rise,

W To claim my mansion in the skies,

E'eu then this shall be all my plea,
Jesus hath liv'd, hath died for me,

2 Jesus, be endless praise to thee,
Whose boundless mercy hath for me,
For me a full atonement made,
An everlasting ransom paid.

3 Ah! give to all thy servants, Lord,
With pow'r to speak thy quick'ning word,
That all who to thy wounds will flee,
May find eternal life in thee.

4 Thou God of might, thou God of love,
Let the whole world thy mercy prove,
Now let thy word o'er all prevail,
Now take the spoils of death and hell.

5 let the dead now hear thy voice,
Now bid the banish'd ones rejoice,
Their beauty this, their glorious dress,
Jesus, thy blood and righteousness.

Hymn 204. L. M.

Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations,
Mat: xxviii. 19.

'G Bid the whole world my grace receive;

O, preach my gospel, saith the Lord;

He shall be sav'd that trusts my word; He shall be damn'd that won't believe. 2 I'll make your great commission known, And ye shall prove my gospel true, By all the works that I have done, By all the wonders ye shall do. 3 Teach all the nations my commands; "I'm with you till the world shall end; "All power is trusted in my hands, "I can destroy, and I defend."

Hymn 205. C. M.

And a great company of the Priests were obe dient to the faith. Acts vi. 7.

JES

ESUS, the word of mercy give,
And let it swiftly run;

.

And let the priests themselves believe,

And put salvation on.

Cloth'd with the spirit of holiness,

May all thy people prove

The plenitude of gospel grace,
The joy of perfect love. -

3 Jesus, let all thy lovers shine
Illustrious as the sun,

And bright with borrow'd rays divine,
Their glorious circuit run.

4 Beyond the reach of mortals, spread
Their light where'er they go,
And beav'nly influences shed
On all the world below.

5 As giants may they run their race,
Exulting in thy might;
As burning luminaries chase
The glooms of nature's night.

6 As the bright Sun of righteousness,
Their healing wings display;
And let their lustre still increase
Unto the perfect day.

Hymn 206. L. M.

Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly, and unblameably, we behaved ourselves among you that believe. 1 Thess. ii. 10.

MAY our lips and lives express,
The holy gospel we profess:

O may our works and virtue shine,
To prove the doctrine all divine.

2 Thus shall we best proclaim abroad,
The honours of our Saviour, God;
When this salvation reigns within,
And grace subdues the power of sin.

3 Our flesh and sense must be denied; Passion and envy, lust and pride!

While justice, temp'rance, truth, and love,
Our inward piety approve.

4 Religion bears our spirits up,
While we expect that blessed hope,
The bright appearance of the Lord,
And faith stands leaning on his word.

Hymn 207. C. M.

That at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth; and things under the earth. Phil. ii. 10.

1

JESUS, the name high over all,
In hell, or earth, or sky!

Angels and men before it fall,
And devils fear and fly.

2 Jesus, the name to sinners dear,
The name to sinners given!
It scatters all their guilty fear;
It turns their hell to heaven.

3 0 that the world might taste and see
The riches of his grace!

The arms of love that compass me,
Would all mankind embrace.

4 O that my Jesu's heavenly charms
Might every bosom move!

Fly, sinuers, fly into those arms
Of everlasting love.

5 His only righteousness I show,
His loving truth proclaim;

'Tis all my business here below, To cry, "Behold the Lamb ". 6 Happy, if with my latest breath, 1 'may but gasp his name!

Preach him to all, and cry in death,
Behold! behold the Lamb!

Hyın 208. C. M.

Then is the offence of the cross ceased. Gal. v.11.

1

ESUS, my strength and righteousness,
My Saviour and my King,

Triumphantly thy name I bless,

Thy conqu'ring name I sing.

2 Thou, Lord, hast magnified thy name,
Thou hast maintain'd thy cause,
And I enjoy the glorious shame,
The scandal of thy cross.

3 Thou gavest me to speak thy word
In the appointed hour;

I have proclaim'd my dying Lord,
And felt thy Spirit's power.

4 Superior to my foes I stood,
Above their smile or frown,
On all the strangers to thy blood
With pitying love look down.

5 O let me have thy presence still,
Set as a flint my face,

To show the counsel of thy will,
Which saves a world by grace:
